about

When this album first started being produced back in late November, the first couple of songs came easy. Stars Climb Into the Sky and Light Up The World was first played on a virtual piano that did not agree with me. Having found a better piano, it became a song of hope and joy and of how the making of music really opened up my world.
Verse Inscribed As Written Light came next. The piano has had effect added to make it seem more like a light coming from away in the sky. It started out meant `fora collaboration but ended up here.
At Night's Black Spell On Darkness was another 3 weeks in coming. It was my first multitrack creation that I produced almost completely on my own except for some minor reverb and volume changes. It contains a virtual cello, and anda vocal synth which I have found very useful.

Then, a month went by with zero composing, and I was feeling like I really did not have much ability. I thought I would do a synth pad track, and while it sounded good, the particular virtual instrument just didn't work well on its own nor would it mix with anything else as it was.
I almost gave up, but the melody was sticking with me. Leave it to my Elysium Harp virtual instrument to bail me out. The harp on its own was lovely and with some special added effects became the song so far that Is the most dear to me. You may not be able to tell it's a harp. It's the first song that really made me struggle but also the first one that made me believe I could make something beautiful.

The Coercion Of An Elucidating Darkness was the last track to be composed. It was also created on Elysium Harp. I decided to do a reprisal at the end as a piano version in an alternate key. It was actually an accident but a happy one nonetheless. This album was a struggle but made me believe in myself. If something feels right to you when you're composing, don't give up.

about

linnea Portland, Oregon

Always having had the desire to create music but knowing I did not fit into the molds that had been created, I found myself drawn to creating ambient music, mostly that of a dark, drone or ethereal nature. Mixed in with that ambiance I also feel the need to experiment with melodic instruments. I have been part of one collaborative song and hope to do more. Produced by Scott Lawlor. ... more
